Bi-pod for my mrad/ and other related heavy rifle conversation

it's an mrad long tube with a SB pm2 5-25/56, near alpha mount, so I'm guessing it weighs 18.5lbs roughly

Yeah, see my Remington MLR in .338LM is only 15.2lbs all in (just checked it on a scale), and that is including the pound of Devcon 1010 I used in the cheekpiece to set the adjustable comb... the Atlas works great for the lighter rifles like this, but mine is about as heavy as I would be comfortable putting a rifle on it, but I am really happy with it.

The LRA was a touch big on my gun, and with the shooting mat/ case I use, (25.0 lbs fully loaded) the LRA won't fit inside without removing it from the rail every time... bit of a nuisance. Also is a tiny bit heavier, not a really big issue at all, but ounces count for me when I am hiking long distances with my guns. Wish they would design a quick attach system, or just license it from ADM, as they have a great QD picatinny design that works very well.

That said, they are the only bipod I will ever use for .50BMG rifles, nothing on the market is even remotely close.

I'm just glad he went back to a sensible caliber like the .338LM so he doesn't make us all look too bad... ;)

I think he has some voodoo/sorcery on that 21" barrel 2990 MV with 250gr LBs . I think Chris sacrificed some small animals on that barrel. Cause the CGN experts say anything shorter then 27" is useless lol!

Pretty sure that when cutting the rifling, instead of cutting oil they applied pure lard. :stirthepot2:

It's the only thing that makes sense.

Here's some LRA #### for you while you wait then twoshots... :D

From right to left:

LRA
Steyr HS-50
Serbu BFG-50A
Harris
Caldwell

On my Serbu... looks just perfect in scale lol...

Beautiful pics! I don't own anything heavier than my Troy m1a SASS, yet I still now want to put that LRA on it and give way the Harris. I'm easily convinced!

Thanks man, best I could do with a cell phone cam lol.

Beautiful bipod though, anybody with a heavy gun should at least play around with one to see what the term "build quality" actually means.

Well I didn't know we were doing show off and tell!! LoL

Here is a side by side of an Atlas and the LRA... Shooting one after the other, the Atlas felt very tippy and very much like a toy next to the LRA

The Atlas model we used to utilize for our Military contracts was advertised by them as being suitable and it was not even remotely suitable for the task. Perhaps they have changed them now however for us that ship has sailed long ago. The LRA is a work of art and the finest bipod you can purchase. End of story.

off topic but any of you guys have trouble extracting that dederal 50xm ammo? It's too hot for mine. Tight bolt handle after firing.
