Hey guys,

just looking for some bi-pod recommendations for my 338 lapua mrad. it will be a dedicated bi-pod used for range and back country target. Needs to clamp on 1913 rail. I am more interested in military style quick engagement as opposed to bulls eye on fixed position.

concerns to me

-stability
-weight
-ability to pan
-adjustment interface from prone. (one handed/two hands/noise/etc)

I just looked at atlas on-line and it looks good. I like to keep the center of gravity low though so maybe there are better options?

Thanks in advance.

OK,

If I go the LRA route is it solid enough for my 50bmg, it does seem a bit overkill to just use on the 338?

Gentlemen prefer Atlas ;)

If the LRA won't hold your BMG nothing will. I maintain my position that the LRA is the best of its' type and, yes, I have tried Atlas which is also very good.

I have a few Atlas and recommend them however I have a rather heavy 338LM that is built up for ELR with a 30" heavy barrel, weighs 23lbs and I much prefer the LRA on it.

Picked it up from PGW and the service couldn't have been any better.

K. Thanks,

I've sent the e-mail. Of the three models I assume we've all been referring to the light tactical? eta: and it comes in two heights as well?

I use my LRA allot! Going back to my other bipods Harris, Atlas ect feels unstable. Lol! Even worse is the floppers on the Tac .50, HS-50, TRGs they are useless.

Ross will take care of you! PGW service rocks! Just look at Swissins rebarreled Shiller;) action frickn laser.
