A while ago the International Biathlon federation (or whatever they call themselves) stated which rifles and actions were permitted for competition biathlon. Previously there were half a dozen levers actions and turn bolt models on the list. If they weren't so expensive, I would like to see the Browning (?) straight pull rifle in a biathlon harness.

The T-bolt?

The T-Bolt action may become smoother to operate in time as the action wears in. It is unfortunately not as smooth as some bolt actions or the Fortner or Izsmash. The 54 Anschutz and the Sako 78 and 94 actions are probably better platforms than the T-Bolt.
In a sport where time is so critical, a fast working smooth action becomes imperative.

Some interesting stuff here about the development of toggle actions and why the greater majority of biathletes use the Fortner.

I have only ever seen one of the Finnbiathlon rifles referenced in this article.
I recall it did have a long throw side lever and was somewhat clumsy to operate.
