Big, Bad and Stock. A revolver question.

Biggest in what way? Calibre? Velocity? The .44 Mag is a big round, but the .45 Colt has a bigger bullet. Even though it's not as fast. There is the S&W .500, but it's not exactly common.

What about the rounds in the 50 cal range? What one looks biggest and what is the most common revolver that fires it. I have a friend who wants to buy something like that. I personaly think he is over compensating for something.:D

Right now he is looking at a 500SW.
 
Other than black powder revolvers like the Colt Walker which weights about 7 lbs., I thought the .500 S&W was the largest currently produced revolver available. (feel free to correct me on this)

You can get a 440 grain bullet for this piece. Not sure if I would want to fire this all day, but would be fun to try it. (Might not be too bad, it is compensated)

There must be some compensating going on if someone is looking for this piece.:rolleyes:

I'd go BFR.

Makes the 500SW look like a girlie gun and the ammo is always going to be available.

Get him to take a 12 gauge loaded with a slug and shoot it one handed. If he doesn't drop the gun, and still wants to shoot another one? Then he might be ready for the BFR.
