Big bill wool jacket help

Looking at buying a Big Bill jacket, looking to go with one of the 2 jackets below. Or possibly their archery jacket.
It I can unstitch the arm guards. cant find them anywhere local to see the 2 different wools in person.

Looking for something I can use for early archery sits, late archery still hunting, on it's own. And also as a outer layer in a system for colder weather for everything. I like the idea of the 24 oz heavier wool, but I'm worried it will be too bulky for archery. Look forward to hearing back.

I have the merino one and love it. It fits big so layering under it is quite doable. Very quiet and I have used it for early season archery sits. It is unlined so if it’s windy you will probably want to add a layer. Not surprisingly, because of the merino wool, I find it very nice and warm for the weight. Also makes a great jacket for walking about shooting grouse. It’s not cut fancy but for a made in Canada jacket I think it’s terrific value.

I'm not an archer and I don't have either of those jackets but I do have the 24oz wool trousers and the 18oz merino wool trousers. So far as that informs me I don't think the heavier fabric will feel much bulkier to you than the lighter.

I can't help you with the Big Bill wool jacket but I have had several Canadian forces wool Jackets . nice and warn . check out army surplus places and gun shows . you might find a brand new one.

i have the same system. 28oz. bibs and 18oz. archery jacket. only have had it for this past season. it is very quiet and low profile. Early season i wore a base layer and just the jacket, later season i started adding layers under it. My only gripe is if there is a stiff wind, it does not break it well.
