I have been messaging Sean for awhile about a custom build. I decided to take the leap and get one to do some long range target and yote hunting along with a trip to deer blind if I want.

I didnt have alot to spend so Sean was very helpful on guiding me to get what I wanted for price I was ok with. The gun is a Savage package gun that he put a shilen select match and chambered for 260 rem. The stock is a HS precision and timney trigger....the bolt has a custom tactical bolt handle that Sean had done. I have topped the gun with a bushnell 3200 4-12 X40 untill I can put a better one on.

so now I can finally join in on the fun! thanks Sean you did a great job and I am very pleased with your work and all you have done for me!

I was going to the range today but after I mounted the scope the wind picked up and right now its around 70 with gust to 100 rain and hail LOL i hope to get to the range shortly but I will only have factory ammo till I can aford to reload to get the full potential out of it

range update!

today I was able to have a sunny and no wind day and the tem well loets just say it was cold LOL I was VERY impressed with the rifle and the trigger, I have never owned a rifle besides a target 22 with a nice trigger so it took alittle bit to get use to but I was able to tell when I messed a shot up much easier...the weight of the 260 made recoil nearly nothing and thats a plus as I devolped a bad shooting flinch in past so I am working to over come it.

i don't hand load yet so I had some rem 140 grain corelokt and some fed 140 grain premiums ...seemed to do best with the rems but I haven't the skill to determine that yet ...I didnt do no wonder group but I did do a group just over a inch at 100 yards which I was real happy with my skill level and factory loads

JH: Nice looking Savage... No worries about the groups, once you start handloading and tailor the load/bullet/powder to your rifle, that baby will sing.

Here's my build from Sean (juanvaldez) and it's just seated into the AICS 2.0 after coming back from the August NSCC National Matches (read: Precision Rifle matches)...

Sean does great work and he is very accommodating to us Precision Rig dreamers... funnily enough, he makes the Precision rifle projects come true! ;) He certainly helped me towards my .260 Rem addiction!

Now once we get some good weather I too have to work up some loads and then post a range report here.... :D
