my father told me of stories of guys he knew that commercially hunted ducks with a 2 guage. they would strap it to the boat, shoot it at a flock and kaboom. then they would boat around and pick up all the dead and wounded ducks. he said they used to fill it full of what ever they could find nails, rocks etc.

I saw a 4 gauge english cape gun last week. MASSIVE, but beautiful. The owner/shooter is a braver man than I. I've heard tales of shattered collar bones and dislocated shoulders pretty often.

Imagine shooting a golf-ball-sized 1400 grain+ lead ball in a cape gun? Yikes!
