Bill Calfee just passed away

I had quite a few email and private messaging with him when I was on Benchrest Central many years ago... pretty weird guy. I am sure he had many followers though.
 
we should be honest in how we feel, we could start a thread about his failures but just thought folks should know

All it does is make you looking like a #######. If I didn't like someone. I wouldn't be so in so died, I should post and be like no comment I disliked him. Just lie and say condolences Or say nothing at all.
 
Like him or not, Bill Calfee was a renowned .22LR benchrest rifle gunsmith. He built many excellent rifles, some of them still used in high level competition. I am not familiar with the circumstances that led to the split between Calfee and those who disliked and often vilified him. He was a gunsmith and shooter with tremendous knowledge and experience. He defended his views vociferously, probably OCD about some things, had some eccentric personality traits, and rubbed some people the wrong way.

If there's anyone here who doesn't have some of the same kinds of shortcomings that Bill Calfee (and probably a lot of other serious people) had, he can cast stones. In the meantime, let Bill Calfee rest in peace. He was a giant in RFBR.

Well I perfer not to be a #### when someone passes, as there are family that cared about him. Last they need to see is some #### that never met him, proud he is dead. Guess we will remember that when your name pops up here.

Proves my point how RF shooters can be the biggest dicks, and why people get turned away from it.
