biltong + pork ?

anyone make biltong out of pork ?

i wonder how it might work if the pork was warmed up to the magic number of 160 f , to kill the "bugs" off ?

thoughts ?

Freeze it first, should be fine. In theory. Never had a desire to make pork jerky when there was deer or moose or beef around.

pork has been insanely cheap lately so i filled the freezer up ...... i'm now really sick of it , so i'm thinking of other ways to use it .

I know people make it, I've just never tried. I'm sure you could google a recipe. The Chinese make a sorta pork jerky from ground pork, it's really good, but I've never made it myself.

never made pork jerky. i would think it may be a bit tricky due to the high fat content.
there is also a concern of pork trichinosis in eating none fully cooked pork but if you had it frozen for a while it should take care of that.

post some pictures if you can, would be interested to find out how it turns out.

Let us know how it goes.I've had pork biltong before and it was delicious. I have no idea how they prepared it. I'll try find out. I've Also has bacon biltong which was awesome.
