Looking for some reccomendadtions for Binos.
I am looking for:
decent glass, clear image.
Waterproof
decent in low light
Inexpensive (under $100, preferably around $50-$60)

I have had a few decent pairs but I either lose them or break them somehow.

You could check out the forums on Opticsplanet.com for binocular related info.

I just did a lot of research on this except at a higher budget. I checked birdwatching forums and reviews, hunting forums, etc.

The bottom line I came up with, at the low price point, is to get the Nikon Action series, can't remember what model but I think they all performed quite well for the price point. A step up, and apparently worth the extra, is the mid priced Nikon Monarch, 42mm objective. I went with a demo Pentax 8x32 DCF SP from gr8fuldoug here at gunnutzfor $300 + $20 shipping; haven't got them yet as I just ordered.

The above is the result of internet research with a bit of local research, and of course nothing can beat hands on inspection to see what you like. But in my neck of the woods there is very little brick and mortar selection, so I went the route I did. I wanted a small binocular that performed well with glasses on.

I have been quite happy with some sub $100 binos, I am just looking to see what other guys have used in the same price range.

I don't need to see the eye colour of a deer or the amount of curls on a Mallards tail, I just want a decent pair of hunting binos that I can use in all weather and can ID a Buck vs a doe etc.

I am sorry but for 100 even 200 dollars you can't get all this.
IMO, it is waste of money to spend 100 bucks, to replace later with 300 and then later with 500, and so on.
I don't say everyone should have Swar or Zeiss, however good Nikon Monarch will do it. And what is your preferable magnification, what kind of situation you need to use it, blah-blah-blah....

Look at Nikons or Pentax

Check the pawnshops! Seriously....I went in and happened to notice a bunch of crappy "compacts" (you know, the tasco/bushnell 10X25 wallymart specials) but right in the middle: Zeiss 8X30's! "How much?" I asked...."All the little ones are ten bucks" he replied. SOLD! :D Then I started looking at the bigger ones, and managed to pick up a set of the pentax asahi marine 10X40's for 30 bucks!
