Bipod for 93R17 -Help

I'm interested in putting a bipod on my 93R17. I don't know anything about bipods. I do mostly bench rest but would also like to do some prone shooting. The cheaper the better but I don't want junk either. What should I be looking into?

Harris builds a decent bipod. Have one on my 30-06 and savage 17 hmr. Between 80-120 $, but well worth it!

Do I just buy the bipod and get a screw and screw it into the stock?

Is there anything I should stay away from when looking to purchase a bipod?

I have the Harris swivel benchrest model. I love the Harris, you will spend a bit more on them but the quality is there. I have no regrets. The benchrest model is great for shooting off the bench and in very short grass looking down hill. I wish tho I bought the model 1 up from it because of the added height in taller grass or looking up a slight incline.

The Harris I have easily attaches to any sling swivel stud and attaches in seconds. That and get a swivel model because the second you try and shoot off any uneven terrain it will pay for itself.

How do I attach it if I dont have a swivel stud?

You should have a swivel stud, it is located on the stock under the barrel. If not, you can buy the swivel studs for cheap and screw in your own.
