Any recommendations on a bipod that would fit the rail on an Anschutz 190?

I'd like to take my 9 year-old son shooting this summer but he's not big enough to hold the rifle up yet. I thought a bipod and a red dot or 4x scope might be some nice bling to convince him the mosquitos weren't too bad.

Thanks!

Jason

Harris makes an adaptor to fit the rail that enables the attachment of their pods and knock-offs. It's either a #6 or #6a.

Harris would be perfect, although he will hit more off a bag, that's just my experience with my boys and nephews, soon my little girl

What about a compromise with a bipod up front and a bag in the rear? I know he's not going to want to hold the butt in place for too many shots before he gets distracted.

I have just had more success setting them up with front and rear bag, because they are smaller,, I can get the gun right where they want it and I want it,, try the bipod it may work,,, but you will want to shoot on the ground not off the bench...

Red dot will get him going. I put an aimpoint comp m4 on a ruger 10/22, ALL shots were on the paper first time out with the little guys. They loved the red dot, something about hitting the target that gets them excited, i would highly recommend a red dot then move to 4x if you can. they were holding the rifle, no bag and no bipod
