I'm new to the sport of shooting and was wondering a bit about bipods. Mainly, what should I be looking for in one? And how do I determine if the bipod is suitable for my gun?

The main use for this bipod would be for prone shooting, and shooting from a bench. I have gotten a bit tired of trying to set up blocks and sand in order to shoot from the bench and figured getting a bipod would be better in the long run.

Another thing, do all bipods work for most guns, cause I do see bipods that are listed for specific models.

Thanks. And any information would be greatly appreciated.

You need to figure out what heights you need. Prone and from a bench the 3-9" is all you'll probably need.

Also I suggest buying one of the swivel bipods, shooting on a bench might be 100% level but if you shoot outside of the range you might not always find a level spot.
