I'm a newcomer to the AR-15 world, but I'd like to be able to put an appropriate bipid on my bushmaster for shooting prone. Can anyone give me a rundown on the options and what's needed? It seems it's not a matter of slapping a harris on the sling stud, as there isn't one :)

Thanks!

You need a Harris #5 sling swivel stud adapter.

Allows you to mount a Harris, Shooter's Ridge or similar bipod with no alteration to the gun.

I've run this setup on a few ARs including my current one) and it works well enough. You might need to trim the ears off the piece that goes inside the handguard, depending on your handguard type, but it is relatively easy to do.
