Bipod on an AR-15?

I'm a newcomer to the AR-15 world, but I'd like to be able to put an appropriate bipid on my bushmaster for shooting prone. Can anyone give me a rundown on the options and what's needed? It seems it's not a matter of slapping a harris on the sling stud, as there isn't one

You need a Harris #5 sling swivel stud adapter.

I've run this setup on a few ARs including my current one) and it works well enough. You might need to trim the ears off the piece that goes inside the handguard, depending on your handguard type, but it is relatively easy to do.

i have an ATI one, and it comes /w all the fittings to install on your standard handguards..

hr: you mean an ATI bipod? Not familiar with that one...
