I know typically bipods are mounted on a swivel or a picatinny rail.

On my DMR AR15 though, I have no rails on my handguard and I'd like to keep it that way. I was thinking of using a barrel clamp for my bipod. Yay? Nay?
I'm not too worried about warping the metal, or melting it as this DMR is for carefully placed shots.

What sort of handguard is on your rifle?
If it is tubular, just drill and tap for a swivel stud.
If it is the typical 2 pc forend, there are adapters that fit in the lower piece, to allow a bipod to be installed.
Don't put the bipod on the barrel. This affects the barrel's harmonics.

The Basic CMMG. How the heck would I take this off? I bought the entire upper assembly from Wolverine.

Right in front of the receiver is the delta ring. Pull it back against the resistance of the weld spring. Once its back far enough, one of the handguards will be released.
Can take a bit of wrestling and appropriate cursing.
Anyway, there is an adapter that fits though one of the vent holes.

Awesome thanks bro. I assume I'll have to disassemble the handguard to install the adapter?

EDIT: If I use this, I'll have to. Correct? http://www.wolverinesupplies.com/details/2979/Harris-2-Adapter-for-Hollow-Forends.aspx

EDIT2: My gas block has a sling loop on the bottom- if I hack off the loop any reasons why I can't mount off that?

Now I feel stupid.

Just get the adapter in your Wolverine link. You need a bit of surface area for the bipod. Mounting one to the bottom of the front sight base won't provide this.
