Recently acquired a CADEX CDX-33 Lite to replace my Savage 110BA and am currently just using the cheap Caldwell bipod I was using on the Savage but am hoping to upgrade to something a bit better. I have a nicer unit on my .308, it came on the rifle, have no idea what it is.

I've had a recommendation for a B&T Atlas so far.

What are some other recommendations and why? Your input is appreciated, I have no preference at this point so all options will be considered.

To my knowledge, only the short leg model is available in Canada and you can get them through PGW.

I could be wrong though, I was only able to find the short leg model in Canada when I was looking for bipods last summer.

If you don't need it to pan (track side to side) and want it to lock up like a vise - LRA. If you need pan to track movers - Parker Hale. Both are tanks.

The light tactical is available in Canada at PGW. They do make other models, but good luck finding them.

Yes, I just checked and it seems like there are some export restriction issues. What makes the LRA better than the Atlas?

Well, I have both the Atlas & 2 LRA's. The Atlas are for the hunting and cqb rifles. Light & manuverable. My 3 precision rifles all weigh in excess of 15 pounds each. The Atlas is too light with the heavy rifles.

OK, this rifle is more than 15lbs as it is 14.5 without the scope and the scope is the portly Razor Gen II, which is 3lbs by itself. Add on the brake and we are probably looking at an 18lb rifle easy.

The fact that the CF has multiple vaults with multiple Timberwolves, that get used and abused much worse than most guns, equipped with harris bipods. Says to me that the harris will stand up to the job just fine.
I have seen 1 of them break, but it certainly wasn't from standard range use.
Although they are not as stable as a LRA, that I agree with.
IMO the LRA is not what I would consider a field bipod, I wouldn't put one on a rifle I take hunting. If I was going to run a bipod as a range only set up I'd probably get an MPOD or something. Probably more stable than the LRA for range use, then run a harris for field work.
