Does anyone know if there is a bi-pod out there that mounts onto your swivel stud?

If so what make and where can you get them. Also what do people think of them?

Thanks for the help guys.

What is the major difference between the Harris and Rockmount?

Anyone ever use a Shooters Ridge, or know anything about them?

They all do the trick but if your fussy and want the best spend the money and go Harris! They have alot of different models to choose from- 6" bench right up to 20 some inches for field hunting and so forth! At the end of the day you get what you pay for!

I have got a harris....the difference between it and rock mount is that the harris will tilt side to side (has a lock on it to lock into any tilt poistion....I found this a handy aspect of the harris!!!

I did get one that is to long though....I will replace it with a prone...

ps.....they are heavy......and with synthetic stock make a very barrel heavy gun.....if carrying one i would prefer a wood stock

I want it primarily for my H&R Ultra in .223
It has a laminate stock and a bull barrel. I realize this will make for quite a heavy barrel (or a lot of weight foward) but I want it more for shooting than walking/hunting.

Any one have any experience with a break action and a bipod? Will it work ok or do you think I will have to pick up the gun to reload? Im thinkin it should pivot on the legs and i could even set the butt of the gun on the ground (holding the action open) make sense??!!??

i bought a rockmount prone bipod with a swivel head. easy to install and remove. seemed to weigh a bit less than the harris. works great!

If you are looking for a bipod for adjustable pivot/pan and cant you should look at the stoney point Polecats. You are not picking up your rifle when you are about to make your shot as the coyote is just now out of your movement with an old harris or rockmount they are extend able to sit and shoot, good if you are coyote hunting they work like a charm. I have a rockmount one, that only extends to 24 inches, and that is not enough when hunting in snow, as the legs punch through the snow.

Versa-Pods also hook onto the swivel stud. I wasn't all that impressed with mine though, a little wobbly when set up.

I have an accu-shot atlas bipod coming now, but it is a rail mount so I had to order a rail as well for 20$ that uses the two forward swivel studs (if yours has two) and then the bipod hooks on to that.

But for a simple bipod, harris is the dominant company for sure.

Bi pods

I have 3 or 4 bipods that haven't been on a rifle since the shooting sticks were introduced. I have a couple sets of then and they are far lighter, easier to carry, and IMHO much more versatile. FS
