Bird Hunt - Sept 18 '05

headed out for the first time this fall for Canada's & Ducks, hunting a grain field about a km from the river. set up about 4 dozen dekes and the goose chairs at 6am and were done by 9am.

got 7 Canada's and 9 ducks I think (mainly mallards w/ pintail)

wasn't a very good morning. there was only about a hundred birds in this field the night before. this was plan B, as there was a field we scouted about 30 km south that had at least a thousand geese in it and a small pond in the field was wing to wing with ducks. couldnt get ahold of the landowner though.

I've had great shoots into November, but the best is late September to mid October.
