Has anyone used the 12.5 Grizzly for a close range partridge/rabbit gun. I think it comes with a mod choke so was wondering what shot size to go with #4, #6, not sure with such a short barrel.
There's no magic formula, and whatever you buy will probably work just fine. Go for it and don't worry what the internet experts have to say
Improved cylinder would be better for short range but modified will work fine. For 15-25 yd shots, #6 or #7-1/2 should be fine for rabbits or grouse. #4 lead shot is overkill for grouse at normal ranges in my opinion, but no doubt it will work.
I have a 15" grizzly, and they come with an Improved cylinder. I used #8 shot and got 1 grouse the other night. I could see that it was hit with 3 of the 400+ pellets from about 40 yards.
