Bits and pieces GUNSMITH any good??

Hi guys I'm sending a rifle to these people and would like an opinion of their work. They seem pretty nice but I've never dealt with any smiths out west before. Epps is pretty good back here but didn't have the reamers I needed. Just curious JITC:D
 
Well, I have never had any work done by Barry (spelling?)... however, I have visited his shop twice.

If you are getting anything done to do with barrels (and it sounds like you are) I'd hunch that you will be fine.

When I visited he had stacks of barrel blanks and I would guess that barrels are his forte.

Of course you will have to post again when you get your rifle back and let us all know :)

Ive ordered parts from Barry in the past, good guy and excellent, quick service.
Do not know about his gunsmith skills though, so cannot comment.

let us know how it goes.
 
I've been in his shop and ordered parts before. He is knowledgeable and very helpfull. I've seen a rifle he built....it looked very good.
 
I ordered a barrel from them once and they sent the wrong contour. They took it back and lathed it down, but it was "ripply". I sent it back again, and they apologized profusely and sent me a new bbl with a correct factory contour. Customer service was very good and the barrel was great once it was sorted what I actually wanted. :)

As for smithing, I've only had them long chamber a barrel and it turned out fine.
 
I had him cut and crown a barrel and drill and tap and install scope bases, he also checked the headspace free of charge, I was very happy with the work I had done, plus he seemed like a hell of a nice guy. I would definately recomend him.
