Okay, after reading all the great things people have said about the Stevens 200, I've decided to pick one up in a 30-06 as a beater gun. My local store sells them for $399, but I'm going to try to haggled them down to Wholesalesports's price of 329.

Is this is cheapest price around right now?

unlkes syou find one used on the EE*not likely as the yare nice guns* yeah wholesale has the cheapest price.
when you pick it up look at bedding and stiffening the stock and possibly replacing the pad

Thing with Wholesale is, do they have it in stock?? I can't tell you the number of people that come in to P&D and buy something that is usually a little higher than WS, and then complain that we are more than Ws, and you come back to them with well why didn't you buy it there and the answer is always the same" they didn't have any" Its not like we try and find out what they are out of then raise our prices. Its all well and fine to offer less expensive pricing if you have the stock to back it up, which in many cases they do not.FS

I agree. Cheap prices don't do squat for me if you never have it in stock.

Geez, I wish they were that cheap here!
They're about AUD$695 which is a complete rip off.
I like the 7-08 but not for that sort of money when you guys are only paying about $400 tops.

Wow, that's expensive down under.

I managed to haggled my price down at my local store to $400 taxes included. Not bad considering he originally quoted me $399 without taxes. Probably could've saved a few more bucks ordering online, but I had to support the local guy.

Many of us up here refuse to deal with that POS store down there, and prefer to go to P&D where we can talk to someone who actually KNOWS somethiing about firearms, is willing to talk to you like you are not an idiot and they are a gun god, and who you can cut a deal with , because the owners are most often close at hand.
I wouldn't go around the block for Whoelsale sports, had too many lousy experiences there with some idjit telling me I'm wrong, I need this instead of that, or "you can't do that".

This is above that fact that yes, they will likley have what you are looking for!

P&D is not a big chain store boyz, they are a small time owner/operator with good knowledgable clerks, the kind I like to deal with, and the kind that I endorse through the Ft. Mcmurray Fish and Game Association whenever I can!
I do not mind paying a little more forr that kind of service.
Keep up the good work....

Holy mackeral... that's about $650 Canadian!

I had a Stevens 200 in 7mm-08 bought used/excellent off the EE here. Paid about $300'ish for it shipped with accessories [scope mounts, sling, brass, dies, etc].

X2 for P&D. Only bought from them once, but the service and turn around time was great.

P&D is the Edmonton Gunshop King!

P&D is my one stop gun-shopping centre as well. Their level of customer service is what I compare all others to. :)

Bring a thermos to work every day instead of going to Timmy's, likely save the $80 in a month ($2.67 a day), then buy from the local shop. Who can use the money more, Tims or a small gun shop? They won't be able to match the mail-order price, but they are there for you when you don't have time for mail order stuff. Buy mail order and the local shop might not be there when you need them.
