Bring a thermos to work every day instead of going to Timmy's, likely save the $80 in a month ($2.67 a day), then buy from the local shop. Who can use the money more, Tims or a small gun shop? They won't be able to match the mail-order price, but they are there for you when you don't have time for mail order stuff. Buy mail order and the local shop might not be there when you need them.

Hell, tims ain't even Canadian anymore. Save ur $ and buy local. I agree x2!!

Do you like your local store? Do they treat you well and have experienced, knowledgable staff that talk to you? Do you like having them around? Pay the extra few bucks and quit haggling. If you always try to get them to meet or beat the "Big store's" price then very soon you will only have the big store to shop at!!! Small places do not have the buying power of the big chains, forcing them to meet the chains price means they are selling you the item at not very much more than they paid for it, how long do you think they can keep that up?

Just out of curiosity, where do you go to buy your gear? Wholesale perhaps? If you had to pay more for everything you bought, you'd also be looking for the best deals around. If you want to pay full price for everything you bought, that's your perogative. If I had a Wholesalesports in my backyard, I'd be buying local all the time too. I don't expect the "little guy" to have the buying power as the "big boys", but when they aren't even close (by that I mean 20, 30, even 40 bucks)....Like I said before, my local guy will always get my business when it makes sense. Would you have paid $400 before taxes for a Stevens 200? Enough said about the subject.
