BL-22 ammo recommendations

Buy ten boxes that are within your price range and do a comprehensive and consistent test with each brand.
You may not find 10 brands but keep in mind that CCI Standard velocity in the plastic trays is different from those in the paper box. The paper box variety would not extract from my Anschutz 1416.
Equip it with a scope if you are testing for accuracy.
When I had a Marlin 39M a test was run to determine if the rifle with a 3-9 scope could compete at 100 yards.
The ammo it preferred was CCI Select . . . no longer available at the LGS's.
To parallel another firearm, my Ruger 10/22 is 100% reliable with Thunderbolt, American Eagle, CCI MiniMags and Blazer.
However, 2" groups at 100 yards with CCI MiniMags round nose versus 6+ with the same in hollow points.

I just got my BL 22 and it ate everything, I did do a bench rest with it and with Iron sights it didn't seem to matter
much at 50 yards which ammo but I'm sure with a good scope it would be very accurate little gun.

But I did just buy it to play with so mine will only ever have the iron sights.

Mine didnt like conical bullets and anything to waxy would make me have to clean it more than i liked. Its a pain to take apart! i usually ran 555s and minimags all day long. Shorts were fun for the mag capacity.
