A search for BL-C2 gave me no matches in the damn search engine. I've been using RL15 but since I am out, I want to give the BL-C2 a try. I will be using 150gn bullet. A site I found says starting 40 grains and up to 49 grains. On the Hodgon Site, it states 48.0 gn = 2839fps = 50,000 CUP. Is this consistent with those of you who use it?

Should I even bother with the build up from 40? Is this even a good powder to use? Or stick with the RL15

If BL-C(2) is all you have, the load would be OK. If you are out of powder and have a choice between BL-C(2) and RL-15 I would stick with RL-15.

Sierra second edition manual 1978

150 gr spitzer /BL-C(2).....start 40.6 gr/2500fps....MAX 48.7 gr / 2900fps...
Fired in.... 26 inch universal Receiver....

Haven't ever tried it......my 308's also prefer Reloader 15

hs4570........your mileage may vary

Tried 49.0 grains of BLC-2 behind some 147's years ago, trying to push them REAL Fast and get some decent results at 900m....

18" tongue of flame? Cool.

Results on target? Not so good.

But damn, fun to shoot at dusk!

I tried 3 different lots of BLC-2 and none of them came close to advertised velocities. I was using 165 grain Hornadys and the fastest velocity I got was 2467 with a compressed max load. I don't recall how much powder, but I remember the cases being VERY full. I swiched to Varget and never looked back.

ricciardelli, Thanks. I gor the same recipe from your stevespages. I love using your site.

It seems like ppl prefer the RL15 I will have to stick with the RL15 then. is not what I am going to get. I'd rather not try a different powder if I am going to have to pay the hazmat fee for shipping each time. If I could access it locally I would give it a try. But with ppl's confidence (lack thereof) in consistency with the BL-c2, I will stick with RL15.
