Black and green??

Most black and green guns are classed as restricted which means you can only take them to the range fortunately some are not like my non-restricted Robinson Arms XCR-L chambered in 6.8 SPC loaded with 95gr Barnes TTSX @ 2825fps = my favorite go to deer/coyote hunting rifle... :D

The cool thing about these kinds of guns is you can swap out the barrels or the complete upper here is a pic of my XCR-L with both my uppers the second one is in 223 I use it for plinking/gophers/coyotes...

Had the 223 upper on loaded with 40gr V-Max @ 3200fps

To me a black/green firearm is a light recoiling fast shooting hunting tool that has far less killing power than any of my other hunting rifles...

Most rifles that are from the Vietnam Era and newer. Tyockell18 the fact that you think they are ugly is a personal opinion and has no relation to the question posed in the first post.

It's a catch all for western military autoloading rifles, based on the colour of their plastic furniture. Most have black furniture (AR15 variants and most in use today). Some have green. For example:

Thats a neat little bit of history right there. Thanks enefgee.

I would have tought an M-14 was scary enough no?

Apparently 7.62x51 went right through the average 120 lb Viet Cong, and left a nice repairable hole, the 5.56 broke apart and made nasty multiple wound tracks, compounded by being able to get multiple hits in full auto. Let's face it, despite what people say about it's 'lack of power' the 5.56 makes ugly, hard to fix holes in people.

Some are not in the loop concerning the tools of the mall ninja like you guys...

You mean arm chair commandos. Mall ninjas more commonly sport REAL OPERATOR'S COMBAT EFFECTIVE airsoft guns... and perhaps the odd lucky one who's mom let them buy an SKS (which to them is indisputably the best combat rifle hands down that every army should adopt, you guys know who I'm talking about).

"Black rifle" was just a term coined to them in reflection of their appearance, although has evolved to simply just mean intermediate cartridge automatic firearms. The green part added on is more of a Gun Nutz mod's joke in reference to various different color and camouflage furniture available for various black rifles.

Don't get me wrong I'd be scared of 5.56 too :p In fact any rifle cartridge... I bought an old kevlar lvl 3 vest and shot some buckshot, 9mm, .45 acp, 5.56 at it. Needless to say the 5.56 rounds went right through both sides leaving tiny holes in the vest. Kinda puts a huge dent in your confidence on the street. When they tell you your vest gives you about 20% more chance of survival in a fire fight they dont tell you it does didly squat in a fire fight with real guns...
