Hey Folks,

I am planning on doing my black badge course in the near future. The issue for me is that the course will be a two hour drive away. So having said that, I would like to get a room and stay around where I will be taking the course.

I am just not sure what I would need to do with respect to making arrangements with the CFO/temporary storage/etc.

If anyone could let me know what they have done it might save me from looking like a total ass when I call the powers that be about this.

Thanks again!

Rent the hotel room, take gun to hotel, leave hotel for course, return to hotel for the night with gun.

* bring gun into room with you at night, in the car by day...

Repeat, until it's time to go home.

You just can't "possess" (I.E. Take it out of the case) at the hotel. If it needs cleaning or maintenance, do it at the range.

I have never heard this before.

My long term ATT lists the address of my home. Can some one point me at something that says my hotel is considered my home for the purposes of the FA?

What do you think people that compete all over the place do? Read 7.62mm's post it's your best bet i guess.

Oh I have no doubt as to what most people do. If a tree falls in the forest and there's no one there to hear it...

I'm only speaking of what you're SUPPOSED to do.

If you travel to a match, you are supposed to fly home every night. To protect the kittens......

What is this ATT thing you guys speak of?
Is it that piece of paper collecting dust on my desk at home, that I forget to bring with me 75% of the time?

Yes, I have thought of the children, and I am adopting a survival of the fittest approach to this.
