Black Badge Course Study Material

The exam is an open book, all you need is the IPSC Handgun rule book from ipsc.org web site. It is useful to read it, but you can answer the exam questions by looking up corresponding sections in the index.

go to range and shoot groups, standing 2 handed, weak hand and strong hand at 10 20 and 30 yrds. everything elses will be covered at the course

if you use a gun with a thumb safety, put your strong hand thumb on the safety and keep it there while you are shooting. Don't use a teacup or wrist grip technique,...cause it looks horrible and it is not the best grip for shooting... Google Todd jarrett Grip technique.

Once you sign up, most BB instructors will give you a "package" that includes an open book test that need to be completed before your first session. I found using a PDF copy of the rulebook very helpful as you can search keywords. This is extremely useful because the rulebook is long and it can be difficult to find information on the topic you are looking for. It is basically all about safe gun handling on a firing line and safe holster practices. Don't fret, just listen to your instructor and do what they say.

Thanks All,

I assume the HANDGUN COMPETITION RULES JANUARY 2009, 2nd EDITION
Is the correct one to study and not the marked up one floating around.

Cheers

Depends are you doing your course before or after January 1? if after then the marked up version would be correct. if before then yes the 2009 version.
