TOTALLY been waiting to take a black badge course in Calgary (or southern AB even).

LET ME KNOW WHEN !!

(is there an email alert setup?)

Howdy Coho

you can check out for courses on IPSC Alberta website ipscalberta.com

Or you can come to Taber for the second weekend in February.

Is there a way to practice for the black badge course at the range with my holster WITHOUT having passed a holster course ?
(Just to be well prepared for the Black Badge Course?)

It depends on your range. If it's the TSE I've been told they won't let you without taking the BB or their course. It's their rule. Send a PM to Saffer about the Monday night league nights. They may let you join in without your BB, but I'm not sure you'd have to ask him about that.

Honestly it's better to have no habits than bad habbits and Walter will teach you everything you need to know. Just be confortable with your gun and know how it functions and from there Walter can lead the way....

Hmm my nose is getting pretty brown isn't it?

No; without the BB I don't allow shooters to attend league. I don't want to have to look over my shoulder the whole evening.

Son of A _____.

I have been wanting a black badge course for almost a YEAR, can't make the Feb 12 date as I am on a day shift. Once again, SCREWED by working emergency services.

It's like Everytime there is a course on a weekend I am on weekends, then for 4 weeks when I do have the weekends off - NO COURSES - then as soon as I am back on a weekend - BAM, course offered.

Is this why there aren't many people shooting competitively ?

*** BEYOND frustrated.

There are LOTS of people shooting competitively.

The BB instructors basically volunteer their time to teach, so you have to work around their schedule on when they have time to run a course, and when they have enough interest to get a full class.

Luckily there will always be another course!

Coho

Give me your schedule for March/April/May and I will see if I can schedule my next class for your weekend off. I need at least four people to run a class.

I understand, just eager to start running drills but without the Holster or basics, I can't really start (other than single mag range target shooting & sitting at home clicking snap caps at the wall to balance my trigger pull).
