I hope to take the course this summer.

Would it matter if my ammo does not make Minor? I just had a loading boo-boo and made 1000 rounds of mild ammo. Have not chronyed it yet, but it might not make Minor. A BB course might be a good way to use it up.

I would like to use my FNS 40L. Is a 5" barrel ok for the BB course? I understand IPSIC has pistol specs. Can this pistol be used?

You can use this gun in Production, Standard or Open divisions. Though I don't think this gun will be competitive in either of those divisions. But if you just want to get there for fun - you'll be fine. :)

Generally subminor ammo probably won't affect you BB course, but you may feel a different recoil during course, get used to it and then could get a recoil "surprise" with a proper ammo after the course...

Thanks. This is the info I was looking for.

So you're shooting a .40 that doesn't even make 125 power-factor?

I would be very concerned about your gun functioning properly.

If it jams constantly; That will ruin your BB course.

Based on your post over in the reloading section; I wouldn't use that ammo for the BB.
You mentioned it's not grouping very well and there is an accuracy component.
As you mentioned; that ammo isn't very accurate in your gun.

It would suck to not pass due to inaccurate ammo.

I read through your previous posts about how inaccurate the ammo is. As stated earlier that will be an issue for the course as there is a certain level of accuracy that is expected.

I did my B.B.,last year(Deer Lake R&G).
First thing was to see if you could hit a 5 inch ⭕️ at various distances.
So even if your capable, but your ammo isn’t, it may cause you problems.

Everything else is more safety orientated .

I'm thinking Ganderite shoots his crappy inaccurate ammo more accurately than a lot of shooters shoot there xtra accurate. Does that make any sense at all? hahaha

Yup. That does make sense. We’ve got a shooting instructor that is more accurate with his handgun upside down and one handed than I am with Tactical strong hand grip. Doh !

I tried the ammo today in 4 different 40s.

The 180s have a PF of 129. 200s are 152. Both make Minor.

The 200s shoot to POA. The 180s are about 2" low. If I use the 180s (I have 1000 to use up) I can aim a bit higher.

I shot today at 25 yards. Looks like both loads will group inside 5" ok.

This face is 6" wide. This good enough for a BB course?
