Black badge lifespan

Yeah, taking the course for sure could not hurt. Funny thing is that the only times that
I ever say an AD(2) were by seasoned competitors and super tricked out auto's . I agree about making sure one is safe but what about the guys that do this-are they made to take the course again? When I decide to jump back in, I will retake the course because like what was mentioned earlier, it was a lot of fun and I want people to feel safe around me.

I know of two cases were shooters were found to be unsafe on the range and were made to spend some time on the range with BB instructors to "re-evaluate" their abilities after repeated safety infractions and unsafe gun handling practices.

There is a rule in place in Ontario where if you DQ multiple times in one year(not sure of the number) you have to re-qual.

In Alberta it is two DQs in a 12 month period.

What people have to remember when it comes to liability it is not that it happen but whiter or not you took reasonable steps to try and prevent it. So in IPSC in Canada we have everyone take a Black Badge course. all of our BB instructors have trained under other BB instructors. we have both Provincial and National people to oversee training. this is a layered defence and i am sure of the real lawyers on here can even give it it's proper name. what it does do is show that IPSC has taken a reasonable steps to ensure everyone is properly trained.

I see all these hardline rules get thrown around but I've personally tossed a shooter twice in one weekend and ro'd the shooter in the next match.

You have to bring it to your boards attention. We are enforcing a rule that DQs must be shown on the scores submitted. If the board doesn't know about it they can't do anything about it.

The people doing stats shouldn't think they are doing a competitor a favour by showing them as just zeroing all that stages when they were DQ'd.

well then you have two choices, ask the outgoing PTO what happen or send a note to the new PTO so he can monitor the situation or take action.
