Just got a nice surprise today.
Got a call from Pheonix Range in Edmonton asking if I was interested in "bumping-up" to a course this weekend due to a cancellation. I have been trying to get onto a course for close to two years. My shift work had destroyed many opportunities for courses in the past.
I was disappointed because I had already been called from the waiting list earlier this month for this weekend but I can't due to a scheduling conflict. So I had to decline.
"No problem, just wanted to see if you wanted to move up. I'll leave you on the
list for June then."
Something made me say, "You mean the wait-list right?"
"No, I wanted to see if you were interested in moving up a month. You are on the course for June... You still have to come pick up your package..."
This was a welcome surprise. Apparently I had been placed in a vacancy Some time ago without a phone call. Haha!
Luckily I could attend, since I'm sure having to turn down the spot would have moved me to the bottom of Len's list of favorite people. ;-)
So look out IPSC, I'm well on my way to rule the rankings in "Barn Door" division!
Anybody here going to be in the same course? Anybody taken it throught Pheonix before?
