So who's ready to hunt bear next week? I've been baiting for a month now, and getting some nice shots on the cam. We're baiting, once a week, a 45 gallon drum worth of donuts, fish, and liquid smoke (for quick attraction). This pic was taken 2 hours after we baited, 2 weeks ago. The bait was fresh, and unopened yet. I think we have them on a routine coming to check for food. If you bait, they will come. I have another 200 pounds of donuts ready for them this weekend. Hopefully I'll fill my 1st tag opening day. Got the bow tuned and ready to go. He's a pretty good size, for the Orillia area anyways. I've seen bigger, but I'll take him if he comes out. The bigger guys won't come out till way after midnight. This bear seams to make his rounds around 7-8 PM.

Anyway, good luck to all you bear hunters out there.

I've never hunted bear before, and have never even seen a bear in over 20yrs of hunting until a few weeks ago. This guy decided to hang out by my corn feeder which was for the deer, and since then the deer no longer hang around. I will have to wait till the spring since there is no fall bear hunt in my zone. He is there all the time, day and night, usually with his best friend the raccoon during the night.
