Black Bear

I've got a bait setup and have seen my bear once for about 30 seconds.
Last evening I could hear him shaking the apple trees about 50 yrds in the woods. What can I do to draw him out during daylight?
Calls, scents, baits, etc...
I've got exactly 1 week left of bear season and maybe only 3 or 4 more times to get out.

Do a honey burn.

Get one of those small sipodeable camp stoves, fil a can 1/2 full with honey, and let er boil (then burn). Should bring the bear in to you.
Also, before you climb up into your stand, scatter a bottle of vanilla extract in a 360 degree circle around your setup.

Gotta be careful , don't mess up the setup . I would wait him out, take a day off. He will come during the day. They always do.

Thanks guys. Looking forward to spring bear hunt coming up.
Also considering get a game camera to setup and see what's really going on.

I read about setting up spring hunt near water and spring food sources. Any suggestions on what "natural" food sources I'm looking for here in South West NB?
