Black Dog - drum mags

Black Dog Mags

Had to sand down the lips as the bolt dragged when passing over causing mis-feeds. After that they worked very nice in my 10-22, still the odd mis-feed on my SR-22 but 10,000% better than the Promag POS. Only concern is the longevity of the plastic lips.

Can you explain the sanding of the lips? My Blackdog Drum mag is the only mag that doesnt always feed properly in my 10/22.

Thanx,

Ok, biggest headache was the SR22, the bolt would rub on the lips when picking up the next shell so it wouldn't chamber it completely causing a jam. Took a piece of sandpaper and took a bit off the lip. Ideally, the bolt should glide smoothly everytime and it took a few tries till I got it to where it slides so the bolt slams shut. The mag is meant for the 1022 but I thought the SR22 was the same design but on mine there's this friction problem. The sanding actually made it better on the 1022. I have a 1022 with the Thompson kit and it looks and shoots nice.

Yup, Ive got a 10/22 Thompson as well, and the only mag that I have issues with is the drum...maybe Ill give the sanding a try.

Thanks for the info guys, i'll be giving this a more serious look. As i'm not much of a rimfire guy, is there a better 50 round drum product on the market?

I have 2, initially they had the odd FTF, as the feed ramps and lips found their groove. Now It will function 43 of 50 fine, the tension/shell angle seems to change up for the last 7 or so on the rubber moulded follower.
