I was just stateside and I found a black dog machine drum mag for 64 bucks so I just had to have it. Anybody who has one of these, how do they work reliable or crap? and if mediocre whats the shot to jam ratio.

I got one from Questar and put 300 rounds of various .22 through my 10/22 without any modification or malfunction. Worked great for me right out of the box.

I just tried mine out for the first time and had some feeding issues... :S But I'll look at the feed ramps first. Also its a SR-22, the company says it should be fine.

I won't touch one without metal feed lips.

Also while I like black dog mags... I've had two die on me after malfunctions with the firearm. I had a round jam and explode in the chamber. Happened twice, some sort of jam and the back of the .22LR case ruptured while firing lots of very quick strings with a Tactical Solutions AR-15 upper and American Eagle. No damage to the upper, but the two mags are now garbage.

An excellent piece of kit-

Will feed any length of cartridge if you take apart the top section and scrape the sides (the center of the feed where the bullet nose touches on longer rounds) with an x-acto knife.

Its a ##### to reassemble the drum after changing spring tension, but after a few times it becomes easy.

Nope, one 10 round black dog mag, and one 27 round. The design at the top is the same. The plastic at the front is vulnerable to damage. Both cracked there. The one then split open along the front seem.

I think my extractor is pooched my gun is spotless clean and is even jamming with the factory mags :( I guess things like this are to be expected after 15000 rounds
