Commercial should cost less because it isn't subjected to the same strenuous testing as the mil-spec stuff.
Mil-spec components tend to fit looser due to interchangeability requirements -- any part has to fit in any gun.
Mil parts also tend to be much better quality and last longer.
So price should be lower on the commercial guns -- we'll have to wait and see though.

The Tavors previously brought into Canada were the same as the IDF. The ones for America have been tailored to their market (eg: QD sling mounts). AFAIK we'll be getting the US style going forward.
 
That said, there are no compatibility issues between US and Canadian(Israeli) Tavors, so I don't think it will be an issue of reduced spec parts. It's not an AR where you have dozens of different manufacturers...

We have been informed by North Sylva that the commercial versions are designed so that none of the internals interchange between the Mil-Spec and Commercial versions. The trigger groups are different and the barrels are different. If you want to switch the commercial version to left hand, you can't just drop a left hand bolt in it like you can with the Mil-Spec. It will have to be headspaced by a gunsmith. Either that, or buy a matching barrel and bolt kit like the ones they have in the US. We're also told the commercial version won't have the detachable flip up sights included with it, and that the price isn't expected to drop on them.
