Well I have been searching for these little unobtainium pills for a long time. Much to my delight, I located a new dealer for Black Hills (BH) ammunition in Canada during my recent trip to the Edmonton CHAS gun show. TIER-ONE-ARMOURY (tieronearmoury@yahoo.ca).

I was surprised to find that the per box price on this ammunition is cheaper than buying FGMM by the case, so I am very curious to see how BH will perform in my rifles compared to the FGMM I usually shoot. I was informed that TOA will be providing a case lot discount, so my hopes are high. I picked up a few different bullet weights for .308, and .223, for testing. I will conduct a range report on the performance of the BH vs. FGMM this this week. More to follow. DP-OUT.

Strange as I sent Black Hills a email last fall and they told me no one in Canada sold their ammo.

Tried to find them with the address you gave but nothing.

It's an email address. They do not appear to have a website. TOA told me that they just got their first shipment the day before, so I imagine "last fall" would have been before that.

I know it was a email address, I was refering to Tier One Armoury and google couldn't find it.

We sat down with Black Hills at Shot Shot and are working on a large order right now.

We'll be bringing in quite a bit of it.

Let me know what you want and I'll include it on the first order.

I was at the CHAS show in Edmonton yesterday and also found myself drawn into the Black Hills table set up by Tier One (email address as above).

Solid guys, very interested in bringing top-tier ammo to the .223 and .308 market (initially) and with ears very open to the idea of bringing in other high-quality factory loadings too.

The prices were damn reasonable for Black Hills Match ammo, and I picked up a box of .223 68gn and .308 168gn to put through my AR15 and Savage 10FCP HS Precision as testers.

Yeah, I've got a Dillon 1050 - and yeah, I load a ton of my own rounds in both these chamberings. But every once in a while, when a premium product like BH ammo hits the market, it's nice to give it a shot and see if they'll make a good consistent addition to the competition stack or to be set aside for a rainy day when one's own loading time evaporates (businessmen and parents will understand when I say that).

I'm looking forward to giving these loads a proper test and posting the results soon!

Also, regarding a website, apparently it's in the works... so stay tuned!

You clearly have the gear to reload with, why would you buy factory ammo?

Reloading is a time eating, soul consuming, curse of an activity. I do reload, but I also like to have a supply of high end match ammo for comparison and when I just don't have the time to reload (Parent and workaholic).

Tier One Armoury and One Shot Tactical sell Black Hills ammo, but Tier One Armoury has .223 and .308 in stock. They also have the MK262 spec. ammo.

Black Hills .223 77 Gr. Sierra Matchking HP, How much per 1000 case?

I have shot the 175 .308 in the US quite a bit and it shoots every bit as good as Federal GMM for less money. Glad to see its finally made its way up here!
