Black nitride finish for bolt action barrels

Does anyone in Canada offer this service?

Due to the hardening of the metal with this finish does the barrel need to be spun onto the action before coating?

don't know about nitriding, but if it's like parkerizing it'll add a couple thousands of an inch in material which might make head spacing off when spinning the barrel on the action.

Nitriding doesn't increase the dimensions on the materials that are treated.

Im concerned about hardness, would it be an issue to chamber and thread if nitrided?

I was thinking if possible it would likely be cheapest to have a commercial non fire arms business coat it not an option if it is spun into an already coated action making it a firearm

Just have it chambered and threaded prior. They can be worked on after but due to the hardness need to be worked with carbide bits and can be tough on the tooling.
