Black powder 10 gauge advice

So I have my BP shotgun actually working now. Small issue though, my loose #4 lead birdshot and 0 buckshot loads pattern kind of half a@@ okay and not so okay.
Would a buffering agent tighten up the killing pattern?

This is loaded into all brass shotgun hulls BTW.

Buffering shouldnt hurt at least. Pellet deformation contributes to ####ty patterns so adding some buffering agent could help a lot.

Some nice and peculiar aspects to a BP cartridge shotgun I feel that I must mention here.

Faster cleaning of through and through barrels, but one must pay equal attention to your fired BP hulls. Primers popped out, into hot water with detergent, then vinegar bath, then rinse & dry once again.
