black powder pressures

just wondering what kinds of pressures that 10 to 15 gr FFFg or FFFFg will generate in a .22 barrel. anyone?

Too many unknowns here.

For example, no bullet, almost no pressure.

Thinking back to the predecessor of the 22 Hornet, the 22 W.C.F which was loaded with black powder and chambered in the 1885 High Wall in days gone by. I don't know what pressure it developed but maybe there are some forum members that load black in their Hornets who might be able to help. Today,s Hornet is loaded to around the 45,000 PSI mark so my guess that with black it would be half that, but so many variables to take into consideration. D.H.
