black stock for a rem 597?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone knows where you can find a black stock for the remington 597. I've seen pictures of a few online, and I really like the way it looks over the grayish one that mine came with from the factory.

I've searched on here, called all my local stores, checked with a number of online stores, and still haven't found any place to get it.

Anyone have any other ideas as to where I could locate one?

Try e-mailing Remmington. They may be able to help.
Put an ad in the EE for a black stock. Or ask someone who has changed to a laminate or custom stock if they would sell their synthetic one. (if its black)

i think he might mean the black one thats being sold at those calgary canadian tires. the thread should be just afew posts under this one.
 
Yes, I mean the black stock from the factory, to replace the gray one that my 597 came with.

I hadn't thought about using spraypaint, but that Krylon Plastic stuff looks like it might give acceptable results. Even if I really mess it up at least I know it's easy to replace my gray stock. :cool:

I'll also try throwing a WTB thread in the exchange, thanks guys.

I have tried emailing remington, but no response.
