Blackhawk Question

I am waiting for my 45 LC blackhawk to arrive and have been wondering, If you can get replacement cylinders for these guns in 45ACP?
I have seen a few guys shooting ACP loads out of the Blackhawks? I assume there available, or am I wrong?
I never did ask the dealer.

MR-1-45A is the part # but it must be fitted.

It may or may not work in another gun, due to it being fitted to the other one.

It is possible to damage the cylinder.

Install it and check the timing. A range rod works good for this, but you can make your own. You can also fit and have a smaller caliber Blackhawk cylinder reamed, lets you control the throat diameter, leading to better accuracy. The extra cylinders are handy to have, I have one in 45 Win Mag for my 45 Blackhawk as well. Also have a 357/9mm Blackhawk combo too. - dan

here is one i bought awhile back, & they are great both ways....

call or e-mail "snapshots" in quebec (warranty service centre for ruger)
e-mail snapshots@videotron.ca & talk to carole...
they may be able to order & fit a cylinder to your gun. sometimes cylinders from another gun will drop right in & you're good to go. if you can find one for sale, measure yours, & the other one & see if the dimentions are the same....
you may get lucky....
