Hi guys,
My friend bought a CZ SP01 Tactical 9mm and is looking for a holster.

I have the Blackhawk Serpa for my Beretta Storm.
He likes it, but Blackhawk does not specifically list the CZ on their website, therefore a custom job may be needed.

A google search reveals that someone on a CZ forum feels the Sig P229 works well. I searched here at CGN but could not find a similar thread.

Has anyone here fitted any of the SP01 line (phantom, tac op, shadow) to a blackhawk serpa holster?

I would also appreciate other brand options, that have some level of mechanical retention. The blade tech is a nice fit, but friction only.

Thanks!

I've modified Glock 17 Blackhawk Serpa holster (a copied one) to fit my CZ SP-01. But it's too heavy for me, so I went back to the nylon holster which is lighter. Just a matter of personal preference.

I just tried my Shadow in a 229 serpa holster and fit is poor.

I would suggest getting a Bladetech as they make CZ specific holsters. My Shadow is sitting in one, beside me, as I write this..

Thanks Bollox,
He bought a bladtech kit, friction holster with double mag holder.
Is the bladetech you own and speak of have any mechanical retention?
I searched the bladetech website but I didn't find anything.

Thanks

First off, a plastic holster weighs too much? Huh?
Second, retention devices like the patented Shoot Yourself Serpa holster are of limited value to anyone outside of law enforcement and military. Unless you are planning on wrestling with people while your gun is in the holster or competing in Tough Mudder type events with your gun on you and your buddy would be better served with something like the Bladtech. Simple friction keeps the gun in the bucket and you will have a holster that is designed for your gun. Modifying a holster to work with a different gun, unless it's designed to accept those mods, is a bad idea.
