Blank ammo question.

I saw a listing for 7.62x54R blank ammo. I assume it would only work in a bolt action like 91/30. Can't work in a semi auto...can it?

It will fire, but not cycle. The military uses an attachment to keep the gas pressure up.

Not unless you can fit a suitable BFA (Blank Firing Attachment).

It depends on the crimp. If crimped at the neck it won't cycle in svt even if you have the bfa, as the crimp is too short and cartridge will dig in to the mag. If the crimp of the blank has a shape of the bullet, then it may cycle. However it still may be stuck due to jagged tip of the crimp.
