blanks

Home depot, RONA, etc. They have the Ramset charges which are simply short, crimped .22 blanks.

I thought i heard somewhere that these things *might* be higher pressures than a standard .22 cartridge. While i cant see a blank cartridge being a higher pressure than one with a projectile, i would make sure that they were "rated" as it were for your firearm. No sense in ruining a perfectly good barrel (and face) with a blank not meant for your regular every day firearm.

That notion is ridiculous. I've fired a number of the Ramset #4 Yellow (second highest power) in my Ruger MKII and they don't have enough energy to cycle the gun. Without a bullet to seal the pressure, there pressure generated is negligible.

I purchased at auction a beverage can launcher and it uses old school .22 blanks. The ramset etc charges are too long to fit the chamber. I will keep looking, someone in Canada must have some
