Would anyone have a rough idea what the R93 would run in cost? Have searched around and have not found much info. I have an opportunity to pick one up at $6500 but not sure if it is a good deal.

Grade 5 wood would mean it's called an R93 Grand Luxe. Pricing gets a bit more difficult as you go up in grades, but if it's the one I think you're looking at, the QD scope mount and rings will run about $450-500 alone on the used market.

What would concern me with this gun is the fact it has a 22" barrel. I'm pretty certain all R93 Weatherby barrels are 25.5" from the factory. 22" is a bit short for a 270 Wby. and you'll lose quite a bit of its potential velocity.

The price is good, however, $6,000 would be fair. I know the store selling the firearm and believe that the barrel measurement is not correct, they must have an out-dated measuring tape. LOL! The barrel appears to be 25.5", as pertaining to Blaser's specs. The rifle is in excellent condition, and if I were you, I would jump on it. I've owned 3 Blaser's, this one is very nice, with an excellent chambering!

I'm too lazy to get up and unlock the gun safe, but...I seem to recall that Blaser specs indicate the measurement of the entire barrel, the whole piece of steel. This includes the "hood" behind the chamber where the bolt face locks up. I believe that this adds around an inch to the actual barrel length as most of us would think of it.

Definitely a 25.5 bbl. The rifle is listed on ####### by wolverine supply and is pictured in front of a 3" square grid display rack. Easy enough to count the squares behind the rifle to get the measurements you need.

Also , don't forget to ask about LOP. A lot of times people who buy higher end rifles will have them customized to their stature. This includes cutting a butt stock. Adding butt spacers to beautiful piece of walnut is less than ideal in my opinion.

I also think $6500 is quite high for that particular rifle. If you're in no hurry there are better deals to be had in the EE. Just have to be patient.

You definitely won't ever regret buying an R93. Wonderful firearms.

Totally agree! These rifles are most awesome!
