handled one at the spotsman's show. Sweet!!!! Very cool action on it! Has anyone shot one and how reliable/strong is the action? Seems pretty hightec and that sometimes means there's more to go wrong!

Had one... recoil, due to the light weight is greater than a lot of other similar
units...a muzzle break would be recommended, particularly with one in 300 WinMag or 338...
I had an issue with light primer strikes in cold weather, even after stripping out the factory grease and substituting a light oil...wouldn't want to have depended on this unit 'on the Russian front';)
Loved the bolt action and ease of assembly/disassembly....
At one time I had a personal 'shootoff' between the Blaser, a Sako TRG22 and
my original rig...the Wolverine2000..(modified Rem700 with custom barrel and AI stock..)..overall winner, and 'keeper' was the AI:D
Just my $0.02....

You can get the standard Blaser barrel in .22-250 but not a heavy tactical barrel in that calibre.

We have a couple of the NEW "LRS2 Tactical 2's" on order. In this varient, you can change from .223, .308, .300 WM and .338 LM on the same reciever and all barrels for this come with a built in picatinny on top.

Hi JR, how does the Blaser go from long action to short action? I could see changing barrels and bolts to change calibres, but I can't figure how you would swap with different length actions. If they figured out how to do it, I may put aside my plans for a TRG-42 and seriously look at this firearm.

That's the cool thing about this unit...change the barrel, change the bolt head to match the calibre, and because the bolt head locks circumferentially into the barrel, voila!..instead headspacing...
I would have to agree with the attraction of this latest version....:D

I've owned and shot one for a year plus now and rank it as top notch gun.
Extremely accurate,very adaptable,and a pleasure to shoot.
Initial price and additional options are at the high end ,but so are Ferraris(sp?)
A take down system that truly holds zero .
Uniquely designed straight pull bolt takes only a short while to get comfortable with and cycling is faster than standard bolt system.
German engineering at it's finest.

Yes its like tikka the actions are all long and they just use caliber specific Mags to get the rounds to load properley. I think thats how its goes.
