I was searching for 25-20 ammo and came upon this, wow....just wow

Note: .280 Ross rifles had a design flaw. If they weren't assembled

correctly, they would explode, killing the rifleman. Therefore,

we elect not to sell replacement cartridges in this caliber (.287)

and suggest that all weapons of this design type be disabled in the

interest of humanity.

LOL... of course, the .303 rifles built o nthe same cation are just fine, right?

Seriously though, assembling a Ross to be unsafe is not dissimilar to firing a Lee Enfield without the bolt head installed. It takes a special kind of idiot...

Commission 88, Mannlicher 92/93, Berthier, Moisin-Nagant, Lebel, Lee-Enfield, all can be loaded and fired with the bolt-head missing completely.

I have NO idea how ANYONE survived World War One!

I must have a death wish!! I shot a mosin, lee enfield, 88 commission and a Ross this weekend!! And to think I never checked if any of them had a bolt head installed correctly or at all!! I'm living on the dangerous side of life I tell ya!!

Tinman, you'd better swing by elie this weekend and drop off those rifles so I can inspect them to make sure that they're safe to shoot. Wouldn't want ya to get hurt now, would I? ;)
