An oldie built by Joe Gibault in the Victoria area. I moved to Victoria in 1979, never met Joe but he had a good rep with the long range target shooters... This one is marked with a JB Gibault stamp. missing a rear sight but the Shultz and Larsen barrel is excellent.

NICE! I have owned two of his Lee Enfield DCRA rifles and they were both excellent shooters!
Looing at the rear mount it looks like the rear sight would have been a Central.

Alain Marion used these barrels. He was regarded even by the British as the best longrange shooter in the world. He and Ken Westling stayed with us when he shot at the Bedford Rifle Range, which was built by the Provincial Rifle Association of Nova Scotia(1864).

Schultz and Larsen were the preferred barrel for 7.62 fullbore with issue ammo up till the Palma in 1985 when the USA team won using Obermeyer barrels. After this the silver barrels in 30 inch length became more popular. Alain’s favourite rifle was also a Musgrave made by Joe.

Boots Obermeyer is aruably the greatest barrel maker of our time having taught Jack Krieger, Mike
Rock, Dr. Kolbe(Border Barrels) and others how to make cut-rifles barrels.
