Blast shield - Worth it ?

Hey there,

I have a silencerco Specwar brake on my AR15. I always thought it was a bit annoying as you get a good part of the blast in your face, however there is like no recoil.

I just did a magdump with another AR 15 sporting a griffin muzzle brake and there was nothing in my face so now I am thinking I should either change brakes or get an ASR Blast shield.

These seems pretty pricey for what they are. has anyone used these in the past and could comment on their performance ?

I run one on my 6.5 creedmoor bcl so its a bit differrnt of a animal but affter shooting two coyotes with just the brake and no hearing protection on i lost a good amount of hearing in my left ear for a few days. Now i have the sheild on and it dose a good job at redirecting the blast and noise with out gaining a ton of muzzle rise.

Blast shields are great for shooting prone/urban prone outdoors, and for shooting indoors next to people
